The Gin Alexander is the original version of the Alexander before it was replaced by the Brandy Alexander as our favorite cream and chocolate cocktail.
Gin and Chocolate go together surprisingly well, as we saw in the Twentieth Century cocktail, and this drink is no exception. As with other similar cocktails, using a high quality creme de cacao is crucial for making a high quality drink.
I've made this drink both with and without the grated nutmeg, and it's mind blowing the difference adding it can make. I strongly suggest getting a jar of whole nutmeg even if it's just for cocktails, it will last you forever.
